Where has the time gone....seriously?! I love looking at past posts and seeing me count down. I was shocked when I had a little over 100 left and now....40. It's going to be here before we know it! I'll just feel so much better when I can walk into the reception and have a drink and relax with my HUSBAND!! =)
Nathan and I are getting so excited though! Things have been going smoothly with the planning. (For now). He is so laid back with everything which has made it easier. He voices his opinion and we discuss it out. I am lucky we both agree on everything and have similar tastes. That has made everything so easy.
Lets see...what has happened since I last updated? My girls and I went for our alteration appointment. It was not fun by any means. Since I have lost 40 pounds, my dress was really big on me. I could put it on without unzipping it and it was just so unflattering. I was not happy. I never "loved" the dress. It was just "eh, it's comfy. lets go with it." After that appointment I was crushed. It made me even more frustrated because the alteration lady claimed it was indeed my size, I just needed to have it taken in on the top a little. What the hell was I going to do? I guess the only logical thing someone in my position would do. GO FIND ANOTHER DRESS. I went to David's Bridal with my Bridesmaid and Best Friend Meghan. I tried on probably 6 dresses. She loved them all on me. For once, I enjoyed trying things on. (Losing weight helps!) The first dress I tried on was the one I went in there wanting to try on the most. I fell in LOVE with it. It's simple and beautiful! It felt amazing. AND...it was two sizes smaller than my dress before. I found a veil and headpiece that I loved and put everything on. I felt like a princess. That is how I should have felt in the beginning. I can't wait for Nathan to see me in it!
We met with our cake lady for the final time. She let us try three more flavors. Spice cake with cream cheese frosting, marble cake with chocolate butter cream and strawberry shortcake. We fell in love with the first two. We can have a different flavor for each tier which is so great! We are still trying to decide on a design. There are so many options. Our cake lady is so sweet and is willing to do whatever we want to make our day special. I think every vendor should do that. It's such an important day!
Our cut-off date for RSVP's is May 10th. The same day my dress and everything comes in! We have received a lot of RSVP's but are waiting to hear from just a few more people. I told Nathan he will be making the phone calls to the people who don't reply. He is not looking forward to it. :) Poor thing. :P
My Bridal Shower is May 21st! I am so excited. I bought my dress for it over the weekend and am in love with it. It's so perfect and Nathan agrees. :) I tried it on for him. The Bridal Shower will be such a blast. I am really looking forward to it. My girls are awesome and they are going to make it so fabulous! I just hope people show up, haha. If not, more food for us!
We finally made plans for the Bachelor/Bachelorette party. All of us are going to dinner and then splitting up for separate parties. It will be such an awesome time with our friends. We are both very excited to kick it with our guys and gals and drink the night away! Lots of pictures will be taken. I want this documented!!!! :)
I went out with my Dad over the weekend to find him a suit for the wedding. He was really worried that it would cost an arm and a leg but, we found him a nice one for a great price. He was very happy with that. Now, it's my job to find him a hot pink tie! I'll have no problem with that. I also took my amazing Maw Maw out to find her a dress for the wedding and we both found one we were in love with! She loved it so much and it made me so happy to see her that happy. She looked amazing.
I was on the fence about booking a Videographer. We weren't sure if we had the money right now for it. But, I thought about NOT having a video to watch of our big day and it bothered me so much. So, I found a guy and Nathan and I both enjoyed his work so we booked him. It was a great price and included so much! Plus, he seems extremely reliable and responds to all my emails. I wish all vendors were like that!
I was really stressed about not being able to pay off the wedding but, all seems to be okay right now. I am not getting my hopes up but, I really think we have been doing a great job. Only a little left to pay. I couldn't imagine waiting until the last minute to pay off everything. How do people do it? We pay stuff towards it every paycheck and that has helped so much!
More updates coming regularly I am sure.....
